People who check their work email at home or on vacation have a lower sense of well-being than those who keep their work and free time separate. (Source, Source 2, Source 3)

It’s almost impossible to change someone’s mind using facts. This happens due to ‘motivated reasoning,’ a psychology term that refers to the way people usually believe whatever they want to believe and use the flimsiest piece of evidence to justify that belief, even when there is plenty of verified evidence to disprove it. That one is pure bull manure! Everyone I grew up with received corporal punishment None of us, male or female, were/are abusive. On top of that we respect others and others' properties as well as our elders.

I agree. When I was growing up I was disciplined when I needed it as were all my friends.
None of us had abusive parents and, speaking for myself, the word 'abuse" is only a word I happen to know.
My children were brought up the same way with lots of love, but disciplined when they needed it. Both grew up to earn multiple university degrees with honors; have never been unemployed; never in trouble with the law, and are productive and contributing members of society.
If I sound proud, you got that right TUP

And you have every right to be proud. I, too, raised my kids the same way - with lots of love, encouragement and support and discipline when it was called for. My two sons were both helicopter pilots in the Army and my oldest daughter is a West Point grad with a Masters in business. She is a successful VP of marketing. My yougest daughter is a Chiropractor None have ever been on welfare or in trouble with the law. All make more $$$ than I did.
