This wasn't involving a motorcycle, but it's just crazy!

SOUTH CONNELLSVILLE (KDKA) – Four people were flown from an accident scene in Fayette County Sunday morning.
According to officials at the scene, a Ford SUV plummeted over a hillside (MORE LIKE A CLIFF!) on Casparis Road in South Connellsville shortly after midnight.
Rescue crews had to use ropes and ATVs to reach the occupants of the vehicle, which had fallen roughly 300 feet down the hill.
Two of the people inside were ejected when the vehicle came to rest.
“A hauling system was set up, and basically, we hauled them from the bottom up over the cliff,†said Asst. Chief Rob Leiberger, of the Connellsville Township Fire Department. “The whole scenario took about seven hours total from start to finish, very labor and time intensive.â€
All four people inside were flown to Pittsburgh area hospitals with serious injuries.
Their identities have not been released and there is no word on what caused the accident at this time.

It looks to be a Ford Explorer which is a fairly large SUV.

The angle it's sitting in the photo is about the angle of the hill it went over.

If you watch the video, the arial view from a helicopter shows the steep gorge from the top of the mountain to the bottom of the river valley. That's pretty representative of the kind of "hills" and forest we have around here.

I still can't grasp what they were doing at midnight cruising around there and how if you didn't know your way around, you would be going very slowly.

It's an SUV. From what I can see in the photo AJ posted, it looks to be a Ford Explorer or Expedition. I can't view the video he linked to. That TV website does not work for me either in Firefox or IE. So this is only a guess.

It only worked for me in Firefox when I gave No Script the permissions it needed. There's nothing harmful on it, but there is a bunch of stuff No Script blocks.

Not to highjack this thread, but here yesterday a driver rear-ended a school bus and went under the bus right up to the windshield, obviously at high speed, and is in critical condition. All the kids are OK.
How can you not see a stopped yellow school bus with all the lights flashing, and why go so fast on a narrow rural road?????????????
My dear old dad used to say, "There's nuthin' stupider than people."
