Crank case oil

With the clutch pulled in it kicks freely, and i recently tightened the clutch at the handlebar, but this problem showed up even before i adjusted the clutch.

I am wracking my brain as to what would cause it. Someone else may have some other thoughts that are escaping me.

Is it possible that old oil may make a wet clutch sticky.?

If i do decide to change the gearbox oil do i need to remove the exhaust to do that?

No....there is a drain plug. It's accessible from underneath the gearbox.

Well I checked my battery and it was only ever charging up to 9 volts. I replaced it and it's starting up like normal...

Weird!?

I wonder how that caused the kicker to feel funny every third kick?

Glad the Triumph Gods looked down on you in favor and allowed an easy fix!
