Went out for a ride this morning and had a blast, I've some good vid on the GoPro that I'll sort out and post soon. On the way home I remembered the photos and conversation about the Super Constellation as I was passing HARS ( http://hars.org.au/ ) so decide to drop in and have a quick look.

Have to post more later people just arrived to drink beer on a Sunday afternoon.

Friends just left and I'm still sober, so ...

I saw so much that I've forgotten most of it. This was one of the transports that worked the Berlin Air-lift in 1948 /49, under restoration.

I think this is a Skymaster DC4

One of a few choppers under restoration, sorry forget what kind.

They have possibly over 100 engines sitting about some spares for the working planes and others just display.

I'll post a vid into this thread in a couple of hours.

This vid was taken on my iPhone4s.
The visit to HARS was spontaneous and the photos and vid not well worked out. Sharron and I will go back again in the new year ( it's only about 20 min away ) and hopefully I'll do better.

So many small planes just sitting under the wings of larger units they are easy to miss.

EDIT,

Forgot to mention this is a workshop that allows people to view rather than a showcase hanger. All involved are unpaid and even though it was a Sunday I saw a bloke making parts on a lathe as we passed by. My tour guide worked in the aviation industry before he retired and was very knowledgeable.
