I am having a very difficult time coming up with anything that I want for Xmas except for things that cost way more than I am willing to spend as I am planning on building another garage in the Spring.

I recall telling lots of people that my favorite toy when I was a child was a slot car race set that everyone loved. The other day I found they now have digital race sets with wireless controls and all kinds of neat add-ons. They come in various "gauges" with the 1/24 scale being the largest I believe. They are pricey, but not much more than a good helmet. I'll have a set under my tree.

I've already found most of my gifts. People need to learn to not have them delivered to the house when I'm the only one home. :y2: So far I've got a set of pannier racks and a Fuzebox for Jessica and hopefully I will have a safety razor to go along with them. My wife keeps asking if I want a Kindle so I'm thinking I might have one of those too.

This is a conversation I just had with my two kids.
We have reached that point in our lives where we want for nothing and gift giving is all but impossible.
Forget the gifts and let's just have a nice Christmas dinner; have some wine; drink a toast to our good fortune and health, and enjoy being together.
With that in mind, my gift to my children and their spouses (I have no grandchildren) will be Christmas day dinner at a local hotel.
It's very posh and the food and service is first rate - and we can walk away and leave the dirty dishes :y2: :y15: :y15:
Any "gifts" that may show up are more in the trinket and joke vein for the amusement of all.

Well I had two early ones today !,,,,, 1) a very nice shiny red tyre changer .....2) a nice shiny tyre balancer ....3) a nice set of shiny stick on lead weights , early because she wants me to change two tyres on the car .......who am I to argue !

Well all the stuff I needed I now have as it stopped working and had to be replaced ASAP

New monitor for the PC
Upgraded RAM for the PC
A New Galaxy Tablet

Other than those item I just cannot think what I might still need

There's one thing I realy like about Christmas ....... You get to choose something for your self ! .......all other times of the year. Your wife chooses for you :Y97:

I've already got mine o_O (well of course I have since I bought it myself). My personal laptop PC is an Acer Aspire 5750, about 4 years old. Something went faulty with the keyboard and eventually I bought a new keyboard for it. Then I Googled to find out the best way to clean a laptop/cellphone/tablet; rubbing alcohol (surgical spirit) + a microfiber cloth. It works really well, dries instantly and even disinfects the electronic device. Anyway, my laptop is clean, fully functional and restored to as-new condition. :)

I once complained about the cost of books my son needed for his PhD dissertation, and my son, the techno-nerd, told me that there was no substitute for the "real thing" and he had no use for "electronic books" like on the original Amazon Kindle. About a month ago, he announced he had written his second fiction novel and I asked him where he would have it published and printed. He proceeded to tell me that no one actually prints books anymore, they're mainly just published electronically. Oh well.
