I have decided that I want to start photography and have bought a starter Camera .A Canon eos 1000 D.I had lots of help from Wallace and thank him for that :y115:.

I was going to get a better model but I will pass this one on to my son if I can get him interested and then I will upgrade.

If posting photos was not so difficult I would show off my works of art but alas I am a doff Irishman :y18:

Paul, our gallery is a little cumbersome. I recommend that you use PhotoBucket to host your photos. It is free and it resizies the images for you as you upload. You simply copy and paste the image link from PhotoBucket into you post and your photos show up. Congrats on the camera. Photography is great fun!

Photography is another of my hobbies and since digital cameras became available I've been going mad :ya2:
When my buddy and I came home from South America we had over 1400 pictures between us :oh:
The one you have chosen is a great little camera and one I looked at when I went shopping for a camera to take to Peru. I already have a Canon Powershot A20 that still takes great pictures but it's a bit bulky to carry in a jacket pocket and quickly bring into action.
I settled on the Canon Powershot SD850 IS. It's very compact and has endless features including IS (Image Stabilization).
I think you will have a lot of fun with that camera.

I've been working at Best Buy in the digital imaging department for a month. I have been into photography for 35 years. I am having a lot of fun selling cameras and playing with the new high-end digital SLR's.

My Son bought one of those Nikkon SLR digitals that takes awesome photos and you can change lens, etc. It would have been thousands of dollars bought retail, but he got it through the PX.

I uploaded a couple of cool shots he took at a hockey game to my gallery. One is with a panorama lens that I thought was tres cool:

I bought Mae Lyne one of those Nikon's about three years ago. It was cheaper than having her film developed!!!!!

All of my cameras are Canons and I love all of them. My 20D is an awesome SLR that will do more than I ever will take advantage of, and I have been in photography since I was a newspaper photographer using a 4X5 Speed Graphic with flashbulbs. I have a Canon point and shoot that I can not, off the top of my head, tell you the model number, but I carry it in my backpack or my tank bag for those times when we all say, "I wish I had a camera" and I have had some wonderful fun with it.
I encourage you to enjoy your camera to the fullest. It is one of the best tools to express your own creativity and you can take it to whatever level you want. As they have always said, "A picture is better than 1,000 words."
