I can not for the life of me work out why they are not using Triumph motorcycles! Seems they are still riding beemers.

I would have thought the Tiger 1050 or even the Rocket 3 would be eminently suitable.

:y22:

The T-Bird would work well if they want a cruiser. However, BMW makes a police bike - heavier alternator and wiring for all the add ons: radios, sirens, lights, etc. I don't believe Triumph makes a police version of any of their models. But certainly GB would be the place to start!

I would have thought that dual purpose bikes would be a better idea, be it BMW, Triumph or KTM. The fact that dirt roads would be no problem - jumping curbs and steps too.

Okay I've been watching the BBC traffic officers programs again. lol
They sure do get alot of people using that helicopter with a thermal camera.

...

I was watching the program COPS one night a few years ago and they were doing a full 1/2 hour segment on British cops.

Someplace in England they did at one time use the original (1991-1994) Triumph Trophy (with the square headlamp) because they showed it in this program. It was painted white with yellow and blue on it.

your right i forgot about that .....they did use trophy's for a time ! in fact it changed the law ! coz over here plastic fuel tanks where illegal on the highways ,but the bike the police were going to use had a plastic tank,WHY ? (i cant remember ) but it was something to do with making room for extra wiring .
any way they did change the law and you were able to use plastic fuel tanks on the road .
