Personally I feel the fact that they only allow classic Brits bikes is a good thing. Ok so I would have loved to have joined the forum just to read about the old Brit bikes but I can understand and accept their standing on this. :y115:

BIR is a nostalgic internet group, not a club, of people who appreciate and ride traditional Brit Iron. They drew the line at the cruisers (Speedmaster and America) and they certainly exclude the Triumph sport bikes because cruisers and sport bikes were not part of the Brit offerings in the 60's and 70's. BIR is a fun re-recreation of the Ace Cafe scene in the 60's.

Joao, I drink very, very little and I am not musically inclined though I do appreciate music. I am certainly not a hooligan except in the since that I am a motorcycle enthusiast. In the 50's and 60's, that alone classed one as a hooligan. I have no tats nor piercings and do not plan to get any of either. There are many others in BIR who are much like us. It is our love of Brit Iron that binds us.

I rebel in my own way. I refuse to wear the mandatory motorcycle "regalia" - black leather, Nazi or pudding bowl helmet, vest, etc. I am not a 1%er nor am I a 1%er wannabe. If I lived in a cooler climate or raced, I would wear leather.

I suggest that you also check out the New Triumph Bonneville Forum; it is also a Delhi forum. This forum embraces all of the the Hinckley Triumph Bonneville family. Many of the same folks in BIR are also NTBF and we have meets and have great times together riding, eating, sipping some beer and telling lies. GrandPaul, Keith, Dazco, DaveM and I all belong to NTBF. I think Bob and Fuzzy are over there, too.

Joao, only thing I can point out is, I, We the local members here... We do are own thing here, use the forum to stay in touch with the members that we have met and rode with.. We ride every weekend, help each other working on bikes.. It's a close nit network! If a member goes down, we help them.. Parts, money or what ever..
I myself have mailed out a few parts to get a bike back on the road.. There is allot of knowledge on that forum, weather it be riding or vintage Brit bikes and the new Triumph's.. We still like to bust balls, it goes hand and hand.. When the cards are on the table, they step up.. Many of the members have met face to face...

Well put, my friend.

Thanks, Carl! I can only be true to myself.. I had tats, drank booze and listened to rock and roll before the BIR.. It's not about that.. The people, the bikes and the good ride... It's what you make of it locally..

I'm sure Andy, will shed some light on this...
