Well I ended up with original Bumm mirrors which are still available and appear to work well. On my Triumph TR5T I have a Halcyon bar end mirror whch looks good and folds up for fitting in the garage, the bike is a lot slower than the Tiger and vibration is not an issue. Not able to really test the Tiger, it was sold as "better then new" and is still not rideable despite looking good. The latest issue is with the carb which at around 25,000 miles has almost 1/4" of play on the slide in the main body. Sad to say I am so disillusioned it will be making appearing on e-bay when the new carb arrives. The TR5T is cherished and will retain its place in the fleet.

Good choice of mirrors.

The new Amal carbs come with either a chrome or brass slide which retards the wear so common to the old carbs with the same metal rubbing together.
I fitted new Amals to both of my vintage bikes and the difference was like night and day. They were a bit pricey, but the bikes run and idle so much better that the cost was soon forgotten.
Amal has come out with a Premier carb that is an improvement on the original Concentric design. Not cheap of course, but the good stuff never is.
You may find that you like the bike after all when you get the new carb and decide to keep it.
