So should I pay it

na ! the cop was to dear, the fine was cheaper !

I know we joke about bribing cops and officials in certain places, but over here it's pretty straight and narrow and you wouldn't dare to try it here.
That's not to say that all cops and officials are lily white and perfect, but it's not part of our culture. You take your ticket or whatever and go and face the music - pay it, court, whatever.
Just a week ago, as I was entering the restaurant for our Sunday breakfast gathering, with helmet in hand, a police officer was also leaving and called me "sir" and held the door for me.
It must have been the white in my sideburns that commanded so much respect - or maybe it was my fierce biker appearance
