Sorry for the delay with this but the tyres were on order over two months, plus I've not been well.
Anyway, the tyres were fitted Friday morning and I spent the next day and a half scrubbing them in and getting used to them.
The thing that struck me immediately was the bike was more eager to turn in. New riders may find that a little unnerving after the Pirelli tyres but it is much easier to turn on the road. The profile is clearly less err, round. Once you get over that it slowly dawns on you that aside from the potholes in the road, nothing upsets these tyres. Tar snakes, cracks, changes on surface, the bike feels planted. I put in a hundred miles yesterday, mainly back country roads and they didn't give me a single concern. Speeds of 70 plus, some hard braking and fairly (for me) big lean angles were accomplished with ease, I am very impressed. They are designed with rain in mind so I expect they'll perform as the reviews say they will. Plus they look ok on the bike.

I've ridden for years and my tyre of choice has predominately been Michelin Road Pilots and had Michelin made them in my Bonnies size that would have been my choice. I have to say, so far the Avons perform superbly, feel planted and inspire confidence, they seem a match for the pilots.

I used Avon for years and always found them to stick to the road the best out of any other but they seem to wear a lot faster than most as well.
Yeah, like Pilot roads. As someone who is very sensitive to the front end I am used too, and can live with that.
