My new (to me) 2014 America will be needing new tyres soon. I live by the Adelaide Hills and ride a fair bit of twisty stuff with friends. What tyres have others been running? What sort of KM"s have you been getting? Are you doing two back tyres to a front tyre? Who wants to claim the most KM"s out of a set of tyres?

I have Michelin Commander 11 (2’s) on mine, they were on it when I purchased it second hand. Had 27,000km on the clock when I purchased it, now has 36,000km. No idea what mileage they were put on but the rear is getting down a bit now. I plan on putting Michelin Commander 111’s on when I replace them, have heard good reports about them and that they are a fair improvement on the 11’s which I think are pretty good anyway.
I usually get around 12,000km out of a rear on my VFR 800.
I lived in Adelaide from 1970 to 1976 and again for a year in 1981/82. I had a Honda CBX at the time (81/82) and rode from Modbury to Woodside and back every day. Fantastic riding in that area, haven’t been back since 99. Showing my age a bit.

Thanks Philois. I traded in my 2018 GSXR 750 on this one. I replaced both tyres on the suzuki every 6000. It got expensive and three one hour stints on a ride day and the shoulders and neck were killing me. Even my VTX 1300 cruiser chewed through tyres. Maybe its me and the way I ride.

A set of Michelin Commander III’s cost me $630 (including fitting - remove and refit wheels to the bike) a couple of months ago in Hobart. Feel a little “skittish” in comparison to the Metzlers that had done at least 10,000 k’s but still excellent.

Bought the commander 111's today and its sh*t to a blanket so far so lets see how long they last $650 fitted here in Adelaide. Remember when you got change from $500 for cruiser tyres fitted?
