Attachments to post

Some time back I disabled the attachment in post facility. Now that we are with our new host I can open this one up again. The biggest down side to this is when the folder is full the only way is to prune the attachments between certain dates thus deleting them. Now if your attachment was not that important to start off with it won’t be an issue but if it was it will be lost.

The way around this would be to only use the attachment option for those not so important files you want to share. Then use the download area for the important ones as you will then have control over these and how they are deleted.

They're on EXTERNAL hard drives by Maxxtor.

AJ, I'm going to have to go to external drive storage. How is the speed?

The Maxxtors are very fast once you've accessed something on them for the first time each session. It's just that first time that is a tad slower than your typical internal HD. Once you've accessed a folder, it's like instantaneous.

Mine are 200 Gigs per drive x 4.

Actually, only 3 are full and the 4th is about 3/4th full.

Heat is the enemy of them though so you don't stack them and be sure to give them as much air space as possible. I have them labeled alphabetically and only plug in the one I am wanting to use when needed.

I'm not seeing any attachment option when I try to start a new topic that I wanted to attach a Power Point presentation to.

Also, what is the size limit?

Click on the Additional Options at the bottom of the post box and then Browse for you file :y18:
