Henry (Fonzie) was a poser; couldn't ride the motorcycle and was scared to death of it.
There are opening scenes at the beginning of the show to introduce the actors and Fonzie is seen riding the Triumph across the screen.
The crew somehow got him started and underway so they could take the shot.
Ronnie Howard said in a TV interview that I watched that Henry couldn't get stopped and the crew had to rush out and grab him and the bike before it crashed through the set.
It was a near-miss and after that Henry stuck to posing.

yep, i heard about his lack of riding skills. poser he was. but it was a good show. too bad. I wonder if Pinky Tuscadero (Roz Kelly) really rode her bike.

Was this bike not sold once before not so long ago as I seem to recall reading about it.

i read there were actually three bikes built for the show. maybe one of them sold elsewhere.
i don't know if I would give up $100k for this bike though.. unless of course, I was Jay Leno. I'm sure he wouldn't mind adding it to his collection.
