This is a shot from my 2018 Triumph calendar and shows a 1966 Thunderbird in the foreground and a 2017 T100 Bonneville in the rear.
Triumph certainly got it right with the famous Triumph profile.

I know that by now my '06 Bonneville is an old machine, and doesn't have the newer straight exhaust pipes, but it makes me smile every time I look at it.
I changed the fork springs and rear shocks a few years ago which transformed the ride and is such a joy to ride even more than before.
In spite of the newer models now available, I expect that I'll be keeping it for the duration.

Rocky,

About your '06 Bonnie -- that's an awful lot of gravel that it's parked on. Do you regularly ride it on gravel, or was this just for the photo?

And if you EVER get tired of that bike, I'll be happy to take care of it for you.

BGRIN I had pulled over in the gravel parking area at a salt water beach and picnic park across the street.
I'll be keeping Bonnie for the duration, but thanks for the offer BGRIN

The one thing that strikes me with the two bike is the amount of space the Thunderbird has between the front of the motor and the frame in comparison.
Yes, the old bikes had a lot of open spaces. These days those spaces are filled with oil lines, rad hoses and various components - and much larger engines.
