If you are burning I get the feeling you are not using proper riding gear...........

In the city I wear jeans. Textile/cordura pants only when I hit the road. I'm an ATGATT advocate, but even if I were wearing proper pants, that wouldn't have prevented the subframe from getting hot. That could be a design flaw, for its competitors don't present this problem. (We can see there's a piece of plastic covering the subframe in the 250 above...)
 
Not as aesthetic, but the simple fix would be to paint the offending part of the subframe white.
If you used that new plasticote stuff,you could easily remove it at sale time.
