95 Thunderbird 900 carburetor question

Well, it cranks when I press the button and it fires up when I release.
Could be just a timing coincidence where it takes the two/three seconds to get the fuel sucked in and ignited.
I will keep an eye on it, but found it strange.

Hmmm. I must be mistaken. I would like to see the schematic, to wrap my brain around that oddity.

Hmm, still having a bit of a hard time to fire. Once she runs she runs. I'll go over carbs again and take them apart completely. Have to go down the list now and narrow things down.

Cleaned out the choke/enricher circuit this morning. Bike started almost immediately. Question though is whether it did it because of the cleaning stuff still in system. I'll try again in an hour. Fingers crossed that this is finally ok now so I can put this stuff back together and start on the front forks.

Yeah, I'm telling you... Never had that many issues with any of my previous bikes. But I do like a good challenge.

Well, bike idles fine (once I get it to start), several people with carb rebuild experience have never seen this before, so I am closing this case as "we will never know".

Will go over the carbs again and clean one or two more things and hopefully get it to start right away without cranking forever and having to give throttle.

Have another week to get this done. Then, I finally have all parts together for a complete engine rebuild that I am currently doing on one of my other bikes.

On Mikuni Carbs , there is a hole behind the Float Bowl Inlet Seat.
Its has a tapered interference for a Brass Bung. Sometimes they get dirty and get a sloppy fit. They are held in by the carb bowl, when its tightened up.
Most are abit shorter in length than what you showed. In any case, if there's no hole in it, its a Bung. Just a question of finding the hole!it fits. Its a factory fit, so should not be loose anyway.
Stay away from , that Easy Start Stuff, its not necessary. If you must use some thing , put a little petrol in a spray bottle. That Easy Start stuff , if engine backfires is a big big hazard. The stuff should be band.

Very happy.
I'll tighten everything up, put the airbox back on and synch the carbs.
In case I get everything done in morning before work, I'll take the bike up and down the alley

Reminds me of my ZX.
Everything is done and I walk around one last time to see that one of the two tail light bulbs are out.
Not a big deal I'm thinking because it's an easy fix and I have to replace one cracked tail fairing anyway.
Go for a ride, first one ever since I got her and the engine rebuild. When I come back, the faulty tail light works perfectly.

She was nice to me for fixing her up

So, airbox installed. Was a pain, as with all bikes that have carbs squeezed in between engine and airbox. Don't have time to sync carbs now and will have to wait until tomorrow morning.
