As I work my way closer to buying a 2023 Tiger 900, I have been thinking the GT Pro is the model I want. However, the GT is $2,000 cheaper, but I give up these features:
  1. Heated Seat - don't ride much when it is below 45 degrees, so how important is this?
  2. Shift Assist - comes standard with the GT Pro and is a nice feature, but can be added to the GT for $386 plus labor
  3. Connectivity - I have a separate Garmin for navigation. Don't use GoPro. And, I have a phone attachment if I need it. Can always add it if I find I need it.
  4. Rider specific riding mode - I rarely ride off-road and never very technical.
  5. Electronic suspension - I have never changed the suspension on my 800, never ride two up.
Otherwise, it looks like the GT and GT Pro are identical. Am I missing something? Opinions and comments?

Thanks

Think you can add the heated seat if you want later. All the connectivity stuff, avoid! Seems to cause nothing but headaches. Stick with what works for you.
Does it have cruise? That's an option don't think I could do without anymore.
If ya don't need it, don't get it. The electronic suspension adds weight and complexity. If I didn't ride two up a lot, I wouldn't have it. Don't need all those "ride modes" IMO but it's ultimately up to you as you have to live with your purchase.

My B.I.L mentioned three more features of the Pro I forgot about - tire pressure monitor, center stand, and fog lights. Of these, the fog lights would be the most important - the better visibility, the better.

All 900s have cruise. I agree - would not buy a touring bike without cruise. It gives me a chance to rest my arthritic shoulders - if only for a few minutes sometimes.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Fog lights and center stand can all be purchased after the sale or added to the buy as well. Fogs should be plug and play. Mine were. Still by the time you add all the extras you want, may be just as feasable to buy the GT Pro and get the extras built in.

BIL said the same thing., so likely going in that directions...

Was in the same boat as you a couple of years ago and tried to make a deal on a GT....the Pro I picked up this year was actually a better deal than the GT would have been if you factor in prices of just the after-market lights, stand, & seats. I LOVE the heated seats and so does my pillion, but I'm in California so it can be 90 degrees on one side of the hill and 40s and foggy at the coast. Push of a button suspension has been great for 2 up. Don't care about the shift assist. Fog lights are pretty awesome and are push of button integrated on bars next to heated seat control, very nice IMO. Center stand is really nice to have pre-installed...done the work on other bikes and can be a PITA...adds weight but makes cleaning chain much easier. Remember Pro also has lit up buttons which is great. They really should come on the GT...kind of lame Triumph charges a premium on that "feature". I mean how much does that really cost them? Connectivity...verdict is still out on that if I can get it to work with my Sena 50s. Bottom line? I'd say see what kind of deal you can make on a Pro else go GT and add what accessories you want.

Thanks for the complete run down of the benefits of those extra Pro features. I am definitely in the Pro camp now. :)

Go look at the Tiger 850 Sport, everything you need on that and also saves you more money
