Just got back to work today after 3 weeks leave and opened my mail to find one from my company congratulating me for working for them for 35 years as of the 3rd of this month.

35 years???
Did you start work when you were 10??? WINK
Congrats on a long career TUP
Job security these days isn't what it used to be.
It's incredible how quickly the years pass. I put in 36 years and was able to retire at age 55.
I've now been retired 20 years and those have all been motorcycle riding years and seem to have passed even more quickly.

Wish I could retire at 55 but it looks like I may have to put in another 40 years or so to be able to afford it :y13: :y2:

Kevin as it is in any big company at the end of the day you just a number no matter what you do for the company

Sad, but true. Oh well, you've had a steady job so there's something to be said for that.
I enjoyed my job, but as retirement came closer I was happy to see it end. But I didn't dwell on it and worked hard right up to the end to kill the time in that last year or so.
I bought my first motorcycle in 34 years in the spring of 1992 and retired at the end of that year. With my new interest I was anxious to have my time to myself so I could ride anytime starting in 1993.
