I have no idea on fitment for the new Bonnevilles but on my Thruxton R 2016 the Motone was a simple bolt on . I keep the factory pipes , aftermarket ones were not offering any power increase and the stock ECU worked fine . It’s a beautiful piece , the bike looks bone stock , about 5 or 6 extra ponies .

My T120 is a 2023 and the cat is welded as are the 22's. The Motone x-pipe did not work so I purchased off e-bay-Free Spirits X-Pipe XL-Pipe For Triumph Bonneville T100 & T120 Euro 5 MPN 088314. It fit perfect.

how did you fit it though if the cat is welded? Did you need to cut it off?
No easy way, I tried. You have to follow the procedure's as shown in a number of you-tube videos. Not a easy task but you don't have to repeat any of the step once done. The x-pipe I used follows the basic design that the Euro 4 bikes have, a three piece set, (cat- lt and rt intermediate pipes ). That cat puts a lot of heat directly under the motor, so oops it fell off.

No adjustments? Doesn’t seem possible, but if they’ve achieved that, it may well be worth the higher price.
Easy enough, the key is backpressure. The OEM pipes, cat, and silencer's are designed to meet a number of criteria for emissions and noise. The end result is a given backpressure to the combustion chamber at all throttle settings. Match that value with even an open pipe and and no adjustment required as fueling isn't affected. Change the exhaust backpressure up or down and you have to dork with the fueling.

A set of intermediate pipes from an E 4 would be a start . Are the mufflers on E 4 and E 5 the same ?
Meant to mention that I believe the muffler are the same, and bolt on regardless of Euro 4 or Euro 5.

It's the cat and headers that are welded on Euro 5 bikes versus bolted on Euro 4 bikes.

Hi all,

Really keen to take the cat and stock pipes off my T120 and add the Motone H Bomb. Has anyone done this on a Euro 5 without any issues? The guys at Motone haven't had this exhaust on a Euro5 T120 so can't be sure on if it would need a tune up or not.

Any first hand comments would be appreciated.

Thanks
Don't know if this helps but my new 2020 T

i decated my 2020 T120 fitted MotoneX pipe and British Classic Silencers, did the hot and cooling cycle at tick over and the bike ran much more efficiently, more torque and another 7-8 mpg. Have since changed the bike after 3 years but the silencers are still for sale.

Sorry , beg to differ . On the factory diagram the cat is now welded to the inter mediate pipes . The header pipes are clamped to the cat same as the E 4 models .

I would like to make my 2016 Thruxton a little louder for safety reasons as most people in cars cannot hear the standard exhaust when in traffic. But wondered if the ECU will need to be Re Mapped depending on how much the back pressure changes of course.

I will double-check my bike to see if the welds are to each end of the CAT or only from the headers.

My friend's 2015 (T100 -- similar) had to re-map his system when he changed his exhaust. He took it to a local business who put his bike on their dyno machine to re-map. The bike came back with (in his opinion) more power than it had previously, and no longer had any variances in the throttle. He was pleased!

I expect you may need the same when changing out your exhaust (DYI or professional).
