Ordered bags and mounted from the same company for my wife’s Speedmaster.
No drilling , easy install. So why did not Triumph have the fittings installed at the factory vs. part of a kit? I would think a $24K bike would include such items.

Triumph makes this part? Why not have it a standard on the R3

with plugs so if you want bags there is no drilling? Why, so they can get more of your money. Of course these parts are not available anyway.
