I sold a 2016 Thruxton R with 750 miles on it. Did a cold start video for buyer and when shipper came to pick up 8 started it and rode down the block to his trailer. Both times fired and ran great. Bike delivered 14 hours after shipper pick up and buyer says started and ran for a few seconds then no more. Was in the back of a 36 foot enclosed trailer for 7 hours bouncing to road conditions. Any suggestions to relay to buyer? Fuel pump?

Dead battery run down by the
Immobilizer.
He put a new battery in it and still won’t start BUT in the packet I am fedexing him today is the red key and he mentioned that key was important for the immobilized??? Why won’t it start with the main key?

I assume the motor spins on the starter but doesn't fire. I'll also assume the fuel available isn't ancient and non-flammable. So does the ignition key ON get the fuel pump prime, gage sweep, etc? Does the immobiliser lamp extinguish when the ignition switch is turned ON?

Here's what the manual says about the immobiliser:

The classic way to check if it's fuel starvation is to turn the engine over for a short while, (10 seconds should do it) then remove the plugs, if they are wet, you've got fuel going in and the problem is elsewhere. As it's a 2016, have the plug caps been replaced with the later versions? The early ones short out to the cylinder head and cause misfiring (or possibly, non starts) the later ones fix this: Spark Plug Cap T1290990
