Hey guys,

So a few weeks ago it got real cold, my bike froze (literally), and I ended up hitting a huge pothole the next day when it defrosted and I thought I blew my seals. The bars when straight down.
This is the one job I'm scared of because of space, tools, and everything I read/watched said it was not a good one to do (I don't have have space to leave my bike apart for more than a day)
anyway, I took it to the dealer and they said that its my forks, but to fix it, they quoted me a $3300 which is a lot of money. My question is, on the quote, they list two part numbers

T2041520 (which is the left stanchion)
T2041510 (right station)

The left lists at $1950 while the right is $908. I can't imagine why the left is a full $1000 more than the right?
but what's more is I assumed the that the Right and Left Stanchion implied that both forks were getting changed, but the guy said this was the price for just the left fork.

This is the triumph dealer. They seemed confused on the part numbers, price difference, and also why there are two stanchion parts for one fork. I was wondering if anyone has done this job and has more information on it? Its an insane amount of money, really wondering if I should just figure out a way to be able to do it myself.

Odd that one fork would be that much more expensive then.
Did you end up bending them? Is that why the dealer wants to replace?
yeah they're bent. Unfortunately the dealer isn't wrong here, they sent me a video of them taking the wheel off and the left fork just falls out. I'm kind of lucky this didn't happen
while i was riding. They did give an update on the price, the left and the right are both $906. I called a few triumph dealers that all initially said that the original prices they quoted me
T2041520 (which is the left stanchion $1980), T2041510 (right stanchion $906) were correct. However, after a lot of digging, Triumph acknowledged an issue with pricing in their system.
So if anyone is in a similar situation with a 2012-15 Tiger Explorer, The part numbers quoted are correct, however, the price for each is $906, not $1980

Blimey man . Good on you for perusing it and getting a better result. Can you sue the local council for lack of maintenance . You need to report the issue . Save some other poor bastard the same or worse fate .

Even worse is the left fork is going to take 2 MONTHS to ship. They have 23 in stock England, no one can tell me why it takes two months to ship a part from England to NYC
