I have an ignition switch issue with my 2014 Commander on which I would like some opinions. I ordered a replacement ignition switch as I was experiencing a problem where I had to "jiggle/adjust"* the key to get the bike to light up and start. I ordered a replacement ignition switch and the bike will now consistently light up but will not start - e.g.; as if the clutch is not pulled in. I put back the original ignition switch and (after the appropriate amount of key jiggling) the bike starts right up. Put on the replacement again and the bike will not start.

Per the parts supplier and they stated that the ECU needs to be programmed to recognize the new ignition switch (which I have never heard of but maybe so). Called my dealer and they were not sure about that and will look in to it.

Let me know if anyone has any confirming information.

*For the curious, I was not having any problems with the bike shutting off once it had started. I was concerned that the ignition might shut off whilst riding but that never occurred.

Thanks, loopd
