I purchased Clyde in February of 2015 (new from the dealership with great incentives). This is my first classic/cruiser. The first modification I made to Clyde was a windscreen. It was an aftermarket "one size fits all" screen that attached to the handlebars. It mostly did its job, but ruined the look of the bike. I am 5"7' and though the screen kept the wind off my chest, it created an off-putting buffeting around my head. The original mirrors took some getting used to, as well. The position wasn't great and I always felt like I had to completely divert my attention from the road to view them (I have been riding sports bikes most of my life).

This month I began making some changes..... I replaced my "one size fits all" screen with the Triumph Quick Release Summer Screen. The first thing that struck me about this screen when I took it out of the box was the quality. It is sturdy! I was able to install the hardware in about 1 hour (such a breeze in comparison to making modifications on my Honda and Yamaha sport bikes). The Triumph screen is PERFECT for my height. I still get a fair amount of wind on my shoulders and head, but no buffeting. Clyde and I did about 230 miles on the highway yesterday. It was a blustery day, and I was definitely tired when we pulled into the garage, but he handled like a champ (average speed 75 mph). The Triumph screen also looks AMAZING on the Bonneville. I chose the shorter screen mostly because I wanted to preserve the sporty look of the bike (I'm not ashamed to admit that I have major Bonneville hubris).

My next task was to replace the stock mirrors with bar end mirrors. The placement of the mirrors appeals to my sport bike muscle memory and they definitely look "cooler."

I was fortunate to be able to purchase my Triumph Waxed Cotton Luggage Bags using "incentive cash" from the original purchase of my motorcycle. The quality is superior to any other saddle bags I have purchased (except for Givi hard cases, which are the bomb). They can withstand a Florida rainstorm without any leaks. Sometimes I do wish they were a little larger, though. I can just barely squeeze my laptop in. I will have to look into tail and tank bag options if I ever plan to do serious road tripping.

Though it takes a bit more planning and some online searching, I've been able to (and plan to continue) modifying Clyde with Triumph accessories. Yes, they are much more expensive, but the quality has proven to be exceptional.

Next up...... Corbin Smuggler (ordered last week). Most of the reviews I've read have not been positive, but they are from several years ago. Fingers crossed.
