Well we sure are having loads of rain and there is talk that they may declare our region a disaster area. I have been very lucky where I live as it has not really affected my house much as I am on high ground. However many people have now been left with nothing and we have had plenty of deaths due to the heavy rains

You guys are having a bad rain season! Worst I've seen in your part of SA in years. 11 dead so far - very sad.

It has been said that it is the wettest on record and I have never seen it like this before. It is still raining and has been for about a week now

I hope the weather clears up for you people. We are leaving Randvaal(near Meyerton) for Hartenbos tomorrow. Will take the N1 up Bloemfontein for the first leg where will stay over. Thursday we will carry on the N1 up to Colesdurg where we will take the N9 up to Nieu-Bethesda or Graaff-Reinet. Friday wiil be the last leg to Hartenbos. We hope and trust that good weather will be with us.

Check out the roads on your route as there have been many roads that were closed due to flooding

Terrible news!
Excessive rain seems to be happening in many places.
September was the wettest September on record here, and it lasted into October.
We had a lot of flooding here , but thankfully, only lots of property damage.

I am sure sorry to hear of the deaths caused by the rains and flooding. I hope you all get a break soon. Flooding is just as devastating as fire.
