2010 Triumph Thunderbird Review

MotorcycleUSA.com, OR

Warburton stated the Thunderbird intends to be the “best handling bike in its class†– a claim we'd love to test, as Triumph seems to have good reason for its confidence. The feet-forward ergonomics place the Thunderbird squarely in the cruiser domain. ...

Very good report. I do find it funny that he seemed to keep it in the lower gears. This is the one thing that I really like about the Speedy you can leave it in top gear and roll on that power at any speed :y18:

It is a good report - but it is non-committal. Madson writes as if he is afraid to offend Harley and the metric cruiser manufactures. In reading the article and reading between the lines, he likes the bike - but he isn't sold on it and isn't likely to buy one. He definitely likes the engine.

They're coming out fast and furious now. I found some other videos on youtube too, tho nothing worth posting. The bike is only about a month from arrival here !!!!! I can't wait. I may not be getting one right away, but i'm gonna try. If i can sell the bike before it comes out that will make it almost a certainty. I just sold my acoustic guitar and i now have $1500 more towards it. But i have a couple things i need to sell first really, one being the bike. And the other should bring $4-5k. I'd really like to sell them first, but if not i may have to just say screw it and invade my savings account. I guy at work almost assured me he'd buy the speedy when i was really, but looks like he was all talk. God i hate that!

Strange article. Nearly everything (if not everything) he said was positive, but there was no love to be had. No 'this is the best new cruiser of 09' or 'great bike' or anything remotely like that though much was implied. Makes you wonder why in a press world festooned with hyperbole this guy can't make any commitment at all. One wonders if advertisement dollars might have been a factor in the editing.

I will say this, the tbird sounds great in the video.

probably just a taste thing. Just because he works in the motorcycle industry doesn't mean he like cruisers. They may be his least fav style of bike. So if thats the case his review would likely be exactly what it was...pointing out the facts but no emotional content.

I actually prefer reports like this. I don't want him to be a cruiser guy who's in love with the bike. I want to tell me how the one he rode went, steered and stopped. Did it fall apart or seem to reflect quality of construction?

I'll make the subjective opinions - if I like it (and I do - anxiously awaiting mine), then nothing he'd say would dissuade me. If he likes it (and I think he does), then so much the better.
