If the 1969 Triumph Bonneville T120 was probably the most beautiful Bonnie ever produced that probably is the only reason why it still keeps its value: “Looksâ€! :y18:

For 1969 was the year Honda launched the CB750, which although much cheaper it was years more advanced and better in every single field…
… bar “looksâ€, although even this is debatable. :y27:

I agree that the '69 is a stunning bike and the profile is the best of all the British bikes. There is something about the style that is "just right".
By 1969 Triumph has just about "got it right" with improvements, but if I had a choice I would take the 1970 model. The profile is identical and you have to look pretty hard to notice anything different.
The most obvious is the improved crankcase breather tube on the left side. Another minor improvement was a slightly larger oil tank. There were a few other very minor improvements that you can't see and didn't amount to very much.
Belive me, I would have either a '69 or a '70 in a heartbeat!
I couldn't find a 1970 T120 when I was looking in 1995 but I did find a 1970 T100 so settled on that.
Some T120's have turned up in the meantime, but I'm happy with the T100 and intend to keep it. It's perfect for the winding coastal roads we ride on where speed and power isn't a factor.
It's all about enjoying a relaxed ride, enjoying the scenery and just having fun.

I agree; the 69 Bonnie was is the high point of the Bonneville line. Any of the Bonnies from the late 60's through 1970 just flat have the looks. I would own any of them from 1966 forward through 1970 - or any of the TR6's. I prefer the TR6's because of the single carb.

That e-bay bike might end up being a good deal if it goes for less than $7,500. It looks darned good to me.

[/quote]Max. bid: US $5,500.00. Bidding has ended. Reserve not met
