Bought an 1200 Scrambler XE a couple of months ago. Not the type pf bike I normally go for so its nice to have a change

Loving it so far.

My only complaint is the lack of a centre stand for oiling the chain etc

I've owned over 50 bikes but never on without a centre stand and I don't feel confident with a paddock stand

Does anyone know of a company that makes a centre stand for this bike

Many thanks

Mike

Actually one of the reasons I bought the XC with the Escape package, it came with the center stand as well as the side bag (and other stuff that is already on the XE).

mike google packjack and you will see a cracking tool for oiling your chain, I’ve not bought one of these but I made one in 2009 when I bought my first street triple and it works a treat, I use it after rides and while touring to oil my chain.i am going to look at making one for the scrambler XE as the one I’ve got won’t be long enough, the packjack comes from America so maybe some lads from the USA might have some invaluable information on packjack.

I’ve just looked on eBay mike and you can buy a similar one for £50 ish.

Interesting tool! Not a bad price, either, for the USA and Canada anyway, just 47.95 USD. It wouldn't be difficult to make one, if you're inclined to do so.

Thanks for that

I've borrowed a jack like the ones you suggest from a friend. To be honest it frightened the s"*t out of me when the bike moved.# as I tried to lift it!

I must explain here that I've owned over 60 bikes in almost 50 years of riding and with the exception of the XE they ALL had a centre stand. I've 2 other bikes and they are both shaft drive.

I don't even feel comfortable with a paddock stand!

As my XE is going to be a low mileage, sunny day Yorkshire Dales bike I think I'll just have to work around it unless someone develops a centre stand. I believe that Hepco and Becker were close to releasing one a few months ago then it all went dead.

One of the reasons I got the XC. With "Escape Package" it came with center stand amoung other extras like small screen, hand protectors, heated grips and mounted soft bag. XE is a bit more of an "off road" version and I don't do much or any of that if I can avoid it.

The lack of centre stand is the only negative for me

Everyone has their own personal preferences but I personally prefer the tank colour, gold forks, riding height etc above the XC which. to be honest, I never considered.

I have worked out a method for me that works to oil the chain and I still hope that someone develops a centre stand. As this bike is my low mileage bike it's not really a big deal
