I just bought a 2022 Speed Triple RS 765. I was in a Yamaha dealership a couple of weeks ago looking at the 2023 MT09 SP when a used Speed Triple in pristine condition caught my eye. It's almost always cheaper to buy a used bike from a private owner but when they dropped the price by $1,000 I had to grab it. My other bikes are a Honda GL650 Silver Wing and a 2021 Royal Enfield Interceptor I've modified the hell out of--S&S 865 kit and camshaft, Nitron suspension front and rear, chopped subframe, etc., etc. This is my first truly modern motorcycle and I'm looking forward to spring when I can get to know the bike and really put it through its paces.

Greetings from sunny North Texas. Welcome to the forum. Just a note, you purchased a STREET TRIPLE RS. The 22 Speed Triple is a 1200. They are both great bikes, just want to avoid confusion over nomenclature.

Thanks for the clarification. I find Triumph nomenclature confusing and have thus had trouble locating the correct service manual. I meant to say Street Triple but Speed Triple is what came out. I think I'm mildly dyslexic.

The boys at Hinckley don't stay up at night trying to come up with model designations. The Speed series bikes are singles, twins or triples. The Street series are either twins or triples. The one distinct model, Thruxton, has been discontinued (likely due to not being in the speed or street series).

Too many …I’ve only got two . Plus 3 Hondas of course , one generates electricity , one cuts grass and one blows snow . Adding another Honda soon , it will make the wife happy , hopefully .

but it has twice the class.

i didnt know a kit was available for them. now i have to go look
The S&S performance stuff was available as soon as the twins hit US shores. (RE must have struck some kind of deal with them.) Hitchcock's makes a slightly more aggresive cam but I went with S&S, partly because it's less than half the price. S&S also makes a 750 kit and and a set of high compression pistons, which seems to be the most popular of the three options and produces excellent results with the right tune. If you want to go really nuts check out Revelry Cycles in Sydney. They're pretty much pushing these bikes to their limits. They have an excellent set of videos on YouTube.
