Hi All, New to this group and rebuilding my 1975 T160 Trident. After a 60km test ride, there is a large oil seepage apparanly from the Rt hand exhaust port. ( also some weeping from the joint between exhust pips and silencer). I initial I suspected the either the upper rocker gaskets or head gasket. This does not appear the case and good compression has been tested in all three cylinders. I now suspect a worn valve guide although no signs were presented on rebuilding the head. Have any members experienced a similar upper cylinder leakages and/or diagnosed the problem

Where did you look? Did you remove the valve guides and check their outside diameter against the inside diameter of the holes in the cylinder head? If you did remove the valve guides, before driving them out, did you remove all the carbon from the parts of the valve guides in the exhaust ports?

Hi Rudie, Thanks for the reply, On closer expection of the outside casings with with a Halogen Lamp, it appears the leak likely to be from the Cylinder base gasket then blowing up the towards the exhaust port. Have retorqued all the base nuts and will test ride again when possible. Thanks for your help
