My friend just traded again . His 955 ADV Ducati which I adored for a useless 955 all red of course , track day model . After a week or two he gets 1000 kms on it and has to take back to Moncton dealer , $40 bridge toll , a day lost , so the thing can be reset to go over 5000 rpm . I don’t visit local dealers ever unless I’m buying a new mower or something . Would rather accompany the wife on a shoe shopping adventure . Let’s ride ‘em a lot and wash em once and a while .

wish i didnt hav 2 but its something i couldnt fix and what does this atmosphere sensor detect anny way ? ? triumph cant make a simple bike with out all this bull $hit jeeze..................

Look around for code reading scanners are not necessarily expensive. I don’t need one for my motorcycle, but have several for my cars. They have been huge assets in figuring out what’s going on.
would need the triumph codes to figure out the problems i have the triumph shop manual not much help with the ecu thu. i checkd the current rates in my area and its $ 115 pre hr. thats about what they got me 4. got me for 2hrs oh well.

It’s not that difficult to find codes for Triumph codes.
https://motorcycletroubleshooting.com/triumph-fault-codesThere’s probably more places to look and sometimes readers for specific motorcycles will come with a manual and code analysis.

That's not all profit. There's tax, costs of premises, equipment, employee benefits.
Still a lot. An hour of that was riding your bike to check it!

Checked the MAP tubes under the tank? Vaccuum tubes that occasionally fall off. Pretty common issue with the newer T'birds. Will cause low rpm/stalling/drivability issues.

I askd the dealer about that last time he rolld this eyes and said everyone seems to think thats the problem with these bikes.

Took me at least a year to figure out my abs/tc issue on the R model . In the end knowing the fault code would not have helped fixed it , Sherlock Holmes was required . Didn’t dare take it to the dealer , not financially feasible.
I discussed this with my former employee , auto 12 volt guy , he says cars are the same , sending data through the regular 12 v wires is just a fair idea ?

I’ve seen this with cars, it gives a plausible direction, still have to often do some analysis and thinking. Understanding how the system functions is what eventually gets you the answer.

Simple bikes, 2007 and earlier carburetor models are somewhat simple. If I had space and money I’d get a fancy new one as well, but since I don’t a 2005 was my choice. The ability to repair was my major consideration in selecting my motorcycle. I knew a new one was out of my price range and ability to repair easily. No doubt one can learn if access to more tools and repair manuals is available.
