Hello,

I just brought home my new 1200 xc yesterday and I couldn’t be more pumped! I traded in my trident 660… what a change. I just went for a ride around the lake and oh man, what an engine! And the brakes! And the SOUND!!! I could ride this bike for hours just to listen to it. I’m in love.

I can’t believe how well that big ol’ 21” hoop up front handles on the tight turns too.

I took some time last night to dial in the suspension for my weight for road riding and it really soaks up the high-speed bumps well (at least compared to my trident).

Nice to meet you all. Glad you’ve all got this amazing bike too.

Congrats, I have the gold line, wasn't sure if I was keeping it until I dialed the suspension in. Fab machine.
My suspension came jacked from the dealer. Asymmetrical and all over the place. I think folks just twisted the dials on the show room or something. I set it all to the manual spec + a tiny bit of preload to each rear shock ((3 threads visible) just so the springs don’t rattle around. The front was set to factory though, so I left it there. I’m 175 lbs, so I figure that’s pretty close to what they were going for.

What did you set yours at?

I like a soft ride as I have spent years riding a gs1100 with this arrangement and its hard to change!
The bike was set up as from factory. I softened it up to stop the choppiness on our roads, also found it tried to slip away as the was no suspension give under load.
Now she runs really nice for me. Rears are 3 clicks from bottom, front is full turn on the tops from factory.
Im going to take it to a race rep company as they are highly recommended to get it right for my weight and type of riding I do!
My weight is roughly 90 kilos (203lbs)

I came very close to getting a 1250 gs. Decided to test ride the scrambler first and I’m VERY glad I did! The GS is a great bike though.

Congrats on your new ride.
I'm struggling with front end set up as they sag to nearly 50% of their travel on max preload! I'm 15stone/95Kgs/210lbs.

Damn man! That’s kind of nuts. Doesn’t leave you much travel. I think there are other cartridges /springs you can put in your forks, but that’s above my paygrade.

I had my bike reset by racetec. He works on all bikes and my rear springs are on the max due to soft springs or gas missing in the reservoirs. I think the front were the same as yours but he adjusted them and the height changed by 15mm.
