I was looking at the electric schematics the other and noticed an accessory plug somewhere around the headlight area. The thought came to me to use it for my GPS power.

Does anyone know where, physically, located and how much of the headlight area needs to come apart to get to it?
 
It's actually under the tank, you will see it when you take it off. It isn't as useful as you might think because it isn't controlled by the ignition, it's powered all the time. In the fuse box it's the fuse shown with a little heated grip symbol but you wouldn't want to connect heated grips to this! If you connect your GPS to it and walk away without turning it off, it will kill the battery.

I ran one from the undeerseat plug to my phone holder. '22 T120 here. Only use it on longer rides.
 
I thank you both for your replaces. It appeaser to me that the best solution is to to run the GPS power direct to battery with the appropriate fuse install on the positive side.

Just to mention my DR650 has 2 of theses plugs behind the front cowl and underneath the seat. I use neither of them as I purchased a Britannia Composts front cowl with a relay block that is operated by the key switch.

However, I'm beging to learn that my 2010 Bonnie SE, while not a rare bike is a quinine bike only offered in 2010.

Running a wire directly to the battery is the same thing as the accessory plug but more difficult as there are no spare fuse spaces that can be used. The best option is to tap into an existing circuit that is ignition switch controlled with a "Scotchlok" then fuse it and run a wire to where it needs to go.

I apologize for going radio silent for a bit.

If I'm not running locally w/o it, I dismount the GPS and put in my pocket. Hate to come back to the bike and find my GPS gone.

One final question: For those that have found the accessory outlet, is it a 4 prong female w/ only 2 prongs active?
 
If the connector is under the tank, it would likely mean you have to run an extension to the device you want to use. Wouldn’t an off on switch between the two connectors keep the device from drawing power?
 
Yes, electrically it would. However, I believe it would be uselessly redundant and a PITA. Learn to turn the device off. There's your off switch. Besides, as I mentioned above, remove the device when you're off the bike. Would you like to have your iPhone stolen, not me.
 
Whatever works for you is a good idea. If I was leaving my motorcycle out of my eyesight, I would install an ignition kill switch as well no matter how much of a PITA that would be. Not familiar with all GPS devices out there, how easy they are to install and remove so considering you are using an iPhone, not difficult to remove. I’m paranoid about accidentally draining. So leaving it on or failing to turn it off is not something I would personally like to do, an on off switch for me would not be an unnecessary step. I’m so paranoid I’d flip the on off switch while fueling. Besides not all devices need to always draw power if they also have their own battery. They simply need a source to recharge at some point. Anyway, good luck, I believe your question was answered except perhaps for the type of connector. Simply remove the tank and your question will be a 100 percent answered. I’m not sure if all the variants of Triumph have exactly the same connector there or not.
