Oh great now you tell me 33 years later. I could have stayed with you.View attachment 51151.
Went back to Helsinki on the way back from Russia 2 years ago.
We lived within walking distance of where your ferry probably left. I worked in an office near the harbor. Summers, we would walk to one of the nearby outdoor terraces for a pint. Yep, should of told you earlier. LoL.

I so want to go back to Scandinavia in general. I have a very good friend in Nordfjordeid, I went there about 3 years ago now, and really am desperate to get back. With all this Covid restrictions, its been like I've had my legs cut off, not being able to go anywhere. Still must look on the positive side, it won't be for ever. I hope SHAKE
Here's a few pics from many moons ago

Familiar road there. I went to first grade in Mäntsälä and grandad was the Superintendent for TVH (Road and Water Administration) for that area. I travelled with him after school and on the weekends. Their summer place was not far from that sign.

I thought for one minute you was going to say you was in the red van, and remembered me View attachment 51155.
I just realised, I've inadvertently hijacked RockyDs thread ( My apologies Rocky DS )
My apologies as well, but his beautiful lake scenery reminded me of home. Summer of 1982 if you passed a yellow Ford Transit with TVH markings it could have been me cleaning up after rest stops. LoL.

Rocky DS, more beautiful scenery please!

Don't worry about it. I have to say I resisted telling you about my trips to Norway. lol.

Getting to the end of the riding season here, but I might get a few more photo's yet. The fall colours are pretty at the moment and I'll have to start raking leaves soon.

What’s the current temperature range? Looks like cool weather up there.

Just coming up to 6:00 pm and it's a sunny 14C. But it has been a few degrees below 0C overnight for the last week or so. Temperatures here in the west central part of Alberta can vary enormously. It's not unheard of to go from -10C to + 20C in well under 24 hours. Also a cold day in winter can see us below -40C and above +40C on a hot summers day.

I took this photo after travelling to Telegraph Creek in Northern BC in 2018. I submitted it to a Calendar competition run by Motorcycle Mojo magazine. The featured it for the August page and sent me some swag too.

I was planning on riding to Yellowknife earlier this year but that was axed due to covid restrictions. Plan B was going back to Telegraph Creek and getting some pics of my Scrambler there but then BC closed down and the reservation around Telegraph Creek was also closed to non residents so I didn't even get to do that.

Norway is indeed a beautiful country. Would love to get back there for an extended visit someday.
Was on a big NATO commitment EX many moons ago. Got to see a lot of that country.
