My new helmet arrived last evening. After three successive HJC modular helmets, I went for a Shark Ecoline3, also modular. The fit is great and it designed to accommodate glass/sunglasses. I paid $400 USD for it. It is the most expensive helmet I have bought.

It is very comfortable. I wear it when sitting on my bike going vroom vroom. BGRIN

I haven't even pealed off the advertising yet.

The chin guard can be opened all of the way back and locked in place. You can then wear it as a 3/4 helmet with the face shield up or down. It is certified to wear with chin guard back. This is what sold me on this helmet.

I will add a report as soon as I can do more than than sit on the bike and go vroom vroom. :y2:

I have a pair the the Shark Evo 2 which my wife and I use and we love em! The flexibility in them with either full face, just front visor or open is great and over in Australia they are the only helmet (modular style ) which meet the approvals so you can ride open face. Plus the benefits of the great ventilation and tinted sun visor. Have fun and let us know what you think Rocky

sennheiser CX300-ii ear phones replacing the speakers and a modified mic wind soak which I am experimenting with to reduce the mic gain and wind noise

The finish, the quality of the liner, the liner being made to accommodate glasses, and the chin bar that locks to the rear are all things that make it more expensive. I can look at the liner in my HJC and at that of the Shark and see a difference. I am not bad mouthing the HJC. I have had three and they are one of the best values for the prices out there.

I bought my Shark Evo 2 when a store in Sydney had them on special and they dropped the price from $599 to $299 ea so it was so much more cost effective to get them at that time. I was using an open face helmet with a visor as I don't really like the full face claustrophobic feel ha ha! We had a beautiful sunny day recently is was around 78 degrees F no wind birds singing I put on my open face and rode through the huge Mountain ash eucalypts forests with massive tree ferns and windy roads .......arrrrrrrrrrr soooooooo gooood!,,,,,,,,,,,,, now that is motorcycling ha ha!

Here the Evoline 3 lists at $429.00. I got mine at a "special" price of $399.00. I had to order it and it was shipped to me, I did not pay shipping charges. I wanted a white one and they only had black at the Shark vendor's stand during Bike Week.

I checked out all the helmets at the motorcycle and motorsports show held here this weekend and not one dealer had the Shark.
I was hoping to see one for myself, but there was no joy in Mudville :y15:

nice lid Carl and very versatile ! the HJC AND SHARK helmets used to be the cheaper end of the market , but unlike SHOE and a lot of the other exspensive helmet manufacturers .
they actually improve there helmets constantly so they are now very very good !
im not slagging the more exspenive options off !!!! ive owned them all but I think there's a lot of trading on a name goes on with very little improvement made for such a large price tag.

Very Nice CarlS
Thanks much, Sprocket.

This is one of my Shark Evo 2 with the modified Scalar Cardo G9 installed.

I like them as they are so versatile!
