Good article. I concur with the author's point of view. People who ride are different. Not only are they more independent and self reliant, I find them to be more caring.

I've noticed my own coolness quotient has been elevated a bit since I started riding...

On the other hand, I felt pretty cool in the sixth grade when I bought a pair of sunglasses at TG&Y (a dime store).
