All of us have heard this at one time or another that if your old bike is not leaking you must be out of Oil.

I just gotta call BS on this ole legend and yarn. With all of the new gasket sealers and gasket creation formulas on the market there is no reason our old bikes should leak at all. One of my friends rides an old Rat Sportster and uses this Gasket Sealer by Honda I think he said that is in a White and Black Tube and the sealer itself is White in color. We all know how HD's leak Oil like water through cheese cloth but after he assembled his Rat Harley that bike does not leak a drop. He uses it on all the Bikes he builds and/or repairs. Never a leak out of any of them.

So what are other's views on putting this Leak Legend to rest with your old Triumph's? CRY

For me, it is a last resort after trying the correct gaskets with the mating surfaces properly cleaned and the proper torque applied to the fasteners. And some of the Triumph leakages are from the tubes. It takes some effort to get them installed properly with O rings properly seated.

And this is how we all learn and help others to learn is by bringing up troublesome issues such as this. TUP

GrandPaul put my engine together properly and it does not leak a drop.

My Cases are tight and I have not seen any leakage out of them. My new Engine Mechanic I know will do the Side Covers and the entire Top End just as righteous. I for myself just do not see any reason why an engine cannot be made to not leak ANY Oil. Even an old HD. I mean for me I care enough about my Engine to give her that much love and sink the needed money into her.

Some how I got lucky and my cases do not leak.

Crosses fingers, toes, whiskers, knocks on wood and kisses my bike and gives her lots of love. TUP

I have an '09 Scrambler and am having some oil leaking from my alternator case, throttle side with the Triumph logo on it. It is actually following one of the wires coming through it. Started out tiny tiny bit, now every time I ride it has a drop mark under it. Didn't know if anyone had a similar happening. Gasket was intact, and the rubber boot around the wire seams to seal against the case. Thanks for any help.
