10 hours and they turned them loose? It's a wonder that they had any survive their first delivery.

The first thing I noticed after seeing the first two photos was the smile and eyes were the same in both.

She was a looker too, and obviously very talented. I have so much admiration for her and all the transport pilots.
I've watched a couple of documentaries about the ladies who flew everything from fighters to bombers as part of the Air Transport team.
Try to imagine getting into a four-engined bomber for the first time and taking off.....and then having to land it!!
Guts and determination personified!!
The RAF and USAF servicemen were mainly either a fighter pilot or a bomber pilot. These ladies were everything!
One engine; two engines; four engines. It didn't matter.
They had their losses of course and everything wasn't golden all the time. They were often handed a flight manual and off you go. I don't know how they did it.
Their contribution to the war effort is often an untold story and one that isn't told enough.
What a fantastic lady! What a fantastic life! What fantastic stories to tell :Salute2:

Here in the States, we had the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP). Of the bases that they flew out of one is practically in my backyard and is now the New Castle County Airport (Delaware). Hats off to all of them
