Still have a lot of life left on my stock tires, but I am still worried about the first tire change. i am worried about getting tires off of and onto these weird rims. I can't fit rim savers on this odd rim, and I am really worried about mangling that beautiful powder coating. I love wrenching and hate paying other people to do things that I can do myself, but I am actually thinking I'll pay a shop to mount tires when the time comes. Even with that option, I fear having a professional shop damage the finish on the rims. Do any of you have experience changing tires on rims like these with the big ridge on the outside for the spokes? Are there any tricks to not messing up the rims? If I go with paying a shop to do it, should I be seeking out a shop that has a specific type of tire mounting setup? The only time I ever had a shop pull a tire for me was when they were replacing a broken spoke under warranty on my drz, and I watch that shop and there equipment wasn't much gentler on the rims than I am when I replace tires on my garage floor with my set of irons and bottle of soapy water.

I have gotten to the point where I take my wheels off and take them to a shop to have tires mounted. I don't have the rims thsat you do. Those rims would make the job even more difficult.

Check out the mojo lever on youtube.
I use it and it really makes tire changes seem like no big deal.
