I recently sold my T100 that I bought to replace Scrambler that I never should have gotten rid of, it just didn't fill the void. I also just recently and rather unexpectedly was offered more for my Speed Triple R Than I paid for it a little over a year ago. Well I let the S3R go and got myself a new Ducati scrambler. I already find myself wondering what I was thinking? Having already sold my Aprilia Tuono earlier this summer I had gone from four bikes down to just my 2007 DR650 and the new Ducati. While the Ducati Scrambler is a fun little jump on and go bike and helps fill the bill to replace my old Triumph Scrambler better than the T100 did, I can't help feeling that I thinned the herd too much. I miss having a big naked bike and though I made money on the S3R it will be hard to replace her for what I got out of her. Well there is the fun in shopping for a replacement. Maybe another Triumph. I've always like the Rocket three and never had one. Looks like a good place to start looking. I know its not really a naked bike, more of a cruiser, but its cruiser like no other. Any one out there go from a naked style bike to a Rocket three? What are your thoughts?

Wow just think of all that extra power you'll have on hand, and the sound of it when it takes off away from the lights, you'll be grinning like a cheshire cat. All you have to do now is make the jump. Enjoy it if you decide to buy one, and don't forget :CameraSmile:pictures please if you do.

My thoughts are, what do you really miss? At first it sounds like you miss your old Triumph Scrambler, but the Rocket is a completely different animal.

I think it's a universal axiom that we all miss what we once had; but for some reason or other, we got rid of them at the time....we did not know what was in our future, or realize the value of what we had, back then. I think I may have FINALLY learned this lesson, after 54 years.....

Try to remember what you miss about the Scrambler, and whether the Rocket would fill that void.

Maybe you don't miss the Scrambler that much after all :) In any case, I guarantee there is a Triumph for you!

As for my own case, I (now) would never part with my Thruxton, but a 1700 cc Thunderbird would definitely add to my happiness. Fact is, I love twins, one form or another.

PS, I don't think of bikes like the Scrambler or Thruxton as "naked" bikes. The other bikes just have extra clothes on....

I to am triumph less at the minute due to a new business venture and am hoping to get another next summer , my trouble is I like so many of the triumph line up that I'm going to have to test ride them all I think !
It's very difficult to find a bike that fiTs all my requirements and for me the one I think does this is the explorer , but I do like the scrambler as well and let's face it you couldn't get two bikes wider apart .
So it's a tricky business finding the right compromise and some people never do which is why they own many bike .
