The overnight temp went down to -1C last night SAD , but came up to a blistering 4C by this afternoon.
This is colder than normal and it will be back up to about 12C by Thursday. All of this means that my riding season is all but over and it's time to winterize the bikes and put them away for another year. I'll be doing that over the next few days or a week on days it's warm enough to ride to get the oil hot before changing.
It also means that it's time to get ready for winter and time to plan for the long cold days and nights so I will be toasty and warm.
With this new igloo maker I'll have my shelter up in no time at all and be snug as a bug in a rug :y2:
Hmmm, I'll have to plan for an internet connection too.

ROTFL I always wondered how you got your igloo up so fast. It seems that our summer is really holding off this year but even with that I feel sorry for you guys going into the big :ice:

:y24: :y24: Great post, Rocky. TUP

We have had some cooler weather here. Last night I had to wear a windbreaker under my mesh riding jacket to ride into Orlando and back! :y2:

It got a bit chilly here last night too, we dropped to 53 degF and it has only reached 71 so far. Guess its time to find that long underwear.

Sorry Rocky, I couldn't resist but that is chilly around here.

Rocky I just showed Sharron your post and she asked what kind of heating arrangement you have once the igloo is complete. I'd suggest solar panels rather than gas. :y15:

Thermals and heavy wool socks here......had to build a fire in the 'ol fireplace last night...... we only mad it to 60 today, low of 45 predicted tonight and 41 tomorrow night!!!
BBBBBRRRRRRR:ice:

We had flurries last night and the white, crystalline water stuck on everything except the pavement. I guess the ground is still a bit too warm. I put the Bonnie to bed on Sunday for her long winter nap. March or April and she'll be back on the road. I have a Honda NT700 (aka Deauville) with a big fairing, windscreen, heated grips and wind deflectors. I'll keep riding it for a while but when the roads get bad with salt and sand, everything gets put away until spring.

I can still manage year round riding as well just not "comfortably" in the dead winter ha or mid summer, but it can be done. As we head into winter the time change and fact it is dark for the evening commute troubles me more than the cold. I don't mind coming to work in the dark, I leave so early traffic is very low. But going home in peak drive time and dark.....ugh..down right scarey.
