Well I did the Windows 10 upgrade on my main PC this week. It all went off great and I only had to do one or two tweaks as in load my graphics card drivers and setup my sound system again. Visually and function wise if you were running Windows 8 you should not feel at all lost on Windows 10. They have changed the look of things such as icons and it does seem a lot smoother to work with.

For myself the biggest wow factor is the new browser MS Edge, it is to date the best browser I have ever used and I think it will now be my one of choice

I upgraded to Win 7 Pro about 3 years ago from Win XP Pro. Skipped all the garbage inbetween. Satan will be riding to work on a snowmobile before I upgrade to another Windows OS. I have been dabbling with Debian and Ubuntu for the last few years but not commited yet. Windows still does what I want it to do. It seems that PCs are going to be fading away in favour of tablets and smart phones, and OSes will be written for the same. When the time comes that Win 7 support is discontinued, I will probably switch to one of the many flavours of Linux.
I hope your upgrade works well for you. The browser sounds interesting. Going to have to keep an eye on that.

I upgraded to Win 10 a couple or 5 days ago. The only reason I did the upgrade was because my computer came with Win 8 which sucked big time and I upgrade to 8.1 as soon as I could. I still hated 8.1 nd was wanting to get Win 7. Win 10 ain't perfect but I do like it better than 8.1 so I consider the swap a good one. . . for now.

Windows 10 ! What happened to windows 8 ? o_O
