Why I'm Not Crazy About Spiders.....

Harty, Carl is right. Right now, the spiders here in SA are still quite small - they're breeding and hatching at the moment. Because they're so small, we don't take them seriously but wow! They pack some venom-power. The black widow has the red markings on the BELLY but the button and violin spiders have the markings on the back. Button spider has 2 white or red dots side by side on the back, just like a button. You won't miss the distinct violin shape on the back of the V-spider. Farsides been in a load of pain - high temperatures on and off, then the entire body aches, the bad headaches...... it's really horrible. I couldn't believe how his arm swelled up. He's really taken some strain with this thin.
We've got loads of rain spiders popping up too. I don't like these but I don't squash them. One because they're so damn big and I can't handle the crunch/squish and two because they catch mosquitos! My lemon tree is full of them so I send my son to pick lemons! What a chicken I am!

Hey Gromit
How is Wallace?
[/quote]

Hi Harty - he's doing brilliantly. Healing very, very well. Still has a dressing on it but it's really much better. Not much pain anymore either! Thanks for asking! :-)

Thanks for the update, Gromit. I am glad to hear this. :y115:

Thanks for the prayers and kindness Carl - how's May Lyn doing?

Wow that's nasty, I'm not really a fan of 'true' spiders myself. Prefer the cuddly tarantulas.
Picked up another two some weeks ago. Got six all -in- all.

Last I heard you only had the one.

PLEASE tell us what you're keeping now and post some pics if possible.

I just have the three: Avic Metallica, Chilean Rose Hair, and a Greenbottle Blue.

You are welcome, Gromit. Mae Lyne is progressing fine. Her surgeon, today, said she is better that he thought she would be at this point. He dismissed her and told her he never wanted to see her again except socially! :y114: She is cleared to begin driving again. Six more weeks before she can ride.

That is FANTASTIC NEWS! God Bless!!! :y114:

Great news
very happy to hear it
well done Mae Lyne

Thanks, Gomit and Harry.

The doc hounded her about smoking - which she has not done for several months now and told her to avoid second hand smoke whenever she could. He also to told her to stay with her oncologist and that he was one of the best around.

Oops! My one and only vice so I sympathise on all counts. Giving up smoking AND going through the trauma that Mae Lyn has just experienced. Hang in there Mae-Lyn, you're still in my prayers.

You think Triumph might be causing all of us to fall apart?

We've had Mae Lyne, Gary (dilligaf), Avion, and Farside all struck by health problems!!

I'm just glad to hear that EVERYONE is on the mend now and looking forward to better riding days ahead!!

Yeah, it's so good to hear that everyone concerned is on the path to getting better.

Re: Seeker.

I now have:
Curly Hair
Brazillian bird eater
Brazillian red and white
Golden chaco knee (wooot!)
Mexican red knee (woooot! wooooot!)
Costa Rican tiger rump

I will post some pics where possible in a new thread.
I only buy T's as slings so three of them are still pretty small. However, the chaco and bird eater are growing rapidly.

Nah, don't think it's Triumph. I think we're all just a bunch of old fogies. But happy old fogies!
