So if you’ve clicked into the story, you have disregarded the warning in the headline. And you are willing to live through watching the video of Georgi Kirilov Georgiev from Bulgaria at the European Championships as he injures his leg. I’ll leave it at that. Watch below (Georgiev is on the far side in the red):

They should put the person who made him do that in prison. If he did it of his own choice, he needs a guardian. Very few things irritate me more than people who take totally unnecessary risks - its like watching I Love Lucy re-runs over and over of her doing stupid, unnecessary things and suffering as a result.

My wife has two granddaughters and like most girls both wanted to be gymnasts and cheerleaders (about the same nowadays), basically, what I call "showing off"; the older one kept at it until she completely shattered an elbow and the upper arm bone requiring numerous surgeries and lots of ugly scars to repair. Then the parents let the younger one go the same route, except for this one its now time to rebuild her face for the second time now from a cheerleading injury and she just turned 17.

I have been riding motorcycles for 42 years and have never been hurt anywhere nearly as bad; people who regard riding as high risk ignore the risks of pointless athletics. I always enjoyed sports and played league softball into my 40s, but I never pushed it to the point of risking injury. To me riding intelligently presents a equally low risk, if not lower.

I didn't watch it either. Some things I don't need in my memory bank.
For the most part I agree with Gary above. The injuries he described are aweful.
But a bit of risk adds spice to life - but I'm also smart enough to know where the line is.
Some people are huge risk takers and do very dangerous acts and stunts.
They can do whatever they want to themselves and suffer the consequences, but I probably won't be watching.
They can have their few minutes of fame without me.
