Well, I will be AWOL from the Internet today...

Leaving around 1 PM for CONSOL Energy Center to referee a hockey game between Robert Morris University and RIT at 3 PM. Then they asked if I would be available on an emergency basis to ref an AHL game between the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins -vs- the Hershey Bears. The AHL game is above my certification level of reffing normally (I'll probably just be a linesman), but there might be a problem getting enough officials due to freezing rain closing down a portion of the PA Turnpike.

Either way, I get free admission for both games and will be at least spectating for the second game.

Here, here!
Some idiot wiped out my mail box after our recent snow storm, and I have been working in PA all week. No mailbox = no mail for a week, and the stupid FedEx driver wouldn't deliver a package that was to be overnighted to me by Tuesday, Well it's Thursday and I still haven't seen it, and when I checked the tracking, it says "customer not home or business not open". My wife was home all day Tuesday.................... idiots!

Well, that was rather boring....

I only reffed the college game as the roads were clear by the time the AHL teams took the ice.

The college game was atrocious! Both teams played really sloppy and it was 2-2 throughout most of the game. All 4 goals scored on penalties. Just when I was dreading it would go to overtime, RTI scored in the last 2 minutes to end the game 3-2.

The AHL game only had one goal scored in 60 minutes of play....1-0 final .

Our local weather office was on the radio on Friday. The guy was saying that it is not if we have floods in our city but when. Seem they are just sitting waiting for the floods to come our way. He did say that they would be able to give a 5 day warning so we should all take note of it and move away from low lying areas. Lucky for me my house is on a hill so when it does come I should be ok. The last floods I was in here was around the early 80's and it was a scary thing. Apparently he said those will look like a drizzle compared to what they are expecting this time around

That is a scary thought Dave, good luck! I couldn't imagine living with that possibility.

At least we finally had a stretch of decent weather; but that is ending today. We will have a couple of days of cold and then back to the 70's. It was 77 yesterday and I got a decent ride in.

Funny enough, I spent the past 2 evenings riding too. It was a balmy 40 to 45 deg F in MD. Compared to what it has been, that's a heat wave!
BTW, it is now 28 deg F. No riding today.

Glad you got a reprieve. This winter has been brutal. I heard some weather man trying to blame this colder than normal winter on global warming! I wanted to ask the idiot if global warming caused the ice ages.

You know, I remember this crap back in the 70's. They said we were headed for an "ice age" because we had a couple of cold winters. I have no opinion on people and their short-sighted stupidity. Oops, I gues that would be an opinion, wouldn't it?

I remember that 70's crap as well. This is probably the left overs from that group - and their now grown kids. Oh, and in the 70's, it was all of our pollution was going to block the sunlight. Well, the air is cleaner than it was then and now the pollution is causing a green house effect. People are so gullible.
