It was a glorious day with temps well into the 20'sC. Very warm for this time of year and nearly everyone was over dressed BGRIN
Our vintage bike club made the most of it with a coastal ride which for me was 126 miles (202 km's)
27 bikes showed up and 95% were of the vintage variety.

Here we are at the meeting place with a good showing of vintage British machinery.
That's my own BSA Victor Roadster with a Triumph 500 and a 650 BSA Lightning.

This is a BSA Golden Flash and another BSA 441 single like mine but one year newer and now called a Shooting Star. Both bikes are on the road this year for the first time in decades and have undergone extensive restoration over the long winter.

Here we're taking a butt rest.

And finally a last butt rest at a beach parking area before motoring on for lunch.
The 1948 Norton was the oldest bike of the lot.

Rocky, put some of that good weather in a parcel and send it our way, summer hasn't turn up yet. Only 4 weeks to go till the nights start drawing in View attachment 35975 :)
Brilliant ride out and pictures too.
I agree that there is something very unfair about that.
Summer really hasn't begun and the daylight hours start getting shorter :y25:

We had a great turnout considering that it's a long weekend which usually means time with the family.
All along our coastal route the beaches were packed with people and even some people (idiots?) were in that cold north Atlantic ocean!!!!!!!!
That ocean water is perishing even at the peak of summer BGRIN

Hi Rocky- Andrea here, Baldeagle's partner. You made me quite homesick with your pictures of your Victoria Day ride out. So glad you had a good time. Cheers! A.

What? Our ride yesterday started in the mid 20's and I was beginning to think I had selected the wrong jacket. . . It was getting a bit chilly but thankfully the temp came up to 30 half way to our destination. It's ODD we haven't had temps above 33 yet this year.

Rocky you really have a nice range of bikes on this ride very cool. How long does it take you guys to do a run like this?
It was a 126 mile round trip for me. It was probably upwards of 150 miles for some depending on where they live.
We left the meeting place around 10:30, did the coastal run, stopped for lunch and arrived back around 3:30.
This was a fairly short run as some runs take all day and can be as many as 200+ miles with many stops for a rest and to view the scenery.
On the longer runs I usually don't get home until 5:00 - 5:30.

The old bikes have been lovingly restored and made very reliable with good parts and careful assembly. It's very rare for any of them to have a problem.
When this club was formed in 1979 they had a "Hard Luck" plaque made and at the end of the year awarded it to the rider who had the most mechanical trouble.
These days we have to search really hard to find somebody worthy of the award BGRIN
We cruise on the back roads (50 mph) and don't thrash the guts out of them - plus at that pace we can enjoy the ride, the winding roads and the scenery.
