I've never had to have renter's insurance in my life.
But, my Daughter is moving this weekend into an apartment where renter's insurance is a requirement.
I don't know where you get it, how much it costs, or actually anything at all about it.
It's kind of stupid actually that it's required. She's rented several apartments before and this is the first one that's required it.
As far as stuff goes, probably the only things of any importance (value) to consider would be her MAC laptop and a Sony flat screen HD TV.
I tried to inquire with Progressive since that's who her auto insurance carrier is. But, they will only talk to her because they want to do a credit check first. I told them that she really has NO credit history at all. She's never had a credit card, a car loan, or any other type of loan before. She's just 21 and a year out of school and less than a year in her first real job. The only stuff that might count would be that she's always paid her utilities and rent on time. Even her cell phone bill is in my name because we are on the "family plan".
