I just got a call from the son of our own forum honcho, CarlS.

Apparently, Carl understands the famous Clint Eastwood "Dirty Harry" line: "A man's got to know his limitations", and has passed down his '71 Triumph project to his son.

Trey called to ask a few questions, one being if I was interested in doing the engine overhaul (I suspect Carl taught him something about a man and his limitations), to which I happily agreed. We'll be getting together soon, and I'll start a thread on that project. Between Carl and me, I am pretty sure we can talk him into starting his own thread on the bike build. He mentioned he wants to do some vintage racing, so that'll be extremely fun; maybe we can even line up together at barber's in 2014!?

Very good, I am glad he called you. He has to go to San Antonia every couple months and that brings him relatively close to you.

Yes, I passed the project on to him. I don't have the work space and am busy in house remodeling so we can put the house on the market. I did tell him to make sure he checks the sludge trap!!

Good advice! Where are you planning to move to?

We are going to have our summer home in North Carolina. We are looking at property in Texas for our winter home. We also make keep Florida our winter home.

Carl, you do know Texas is a better winter home, right? No (or VERY little) east coast snowbirds, just mid-west and Canadian snowbirds.

I would like to relocate to the Hill Country; but I think that might be too cold for my other half.

The southern edge of the Hill Country isn't too bad as long as the winds don't kick up too high.
