I am restoring a 1960 Triumph 650 Trophy (TR6) and I can't seem to find consistent color schemes (i.e. Tank - dark on top, light on bottom or vice-versa).
Does anyone have the official paint schemes that they would share with me.
I find a lot of images online, but it seems they go both ways on this subject.

Thank you in advance.

Not sure if this is any help. Sorry I don’t have the paint codes.

Both could be 'correct'. Meriden built in batches, the US had two different importers, one could have asked for it one way, the other could have asked for it the other way. Or the same importer, on seeing their first batch, could have asked for the colours to be reversed on subsequent batches. Or the Meriden sprayers might simply have painted them differently. Then US dealers both changed bikes before they put them on sale and at buyer request ...

Btw, there are no "paint codes", Meriden mixed batches from supplied ingredients, had more than one paint supplier then different sprayers did not use the same gun pressures or always make allowances for different ambient conditions. The best "code" you will get is another owner saying, "I used XYZ and it matched my bike" (which had had weathered paint ...).

The bike was only original over sixty years ago. Now it is your bike. Pick colours and a pattern you like.

Rudie-
Thank you for the information. I think that makes more sense out of what I had been seeing...bikes with original paint done in both schemes. Tanks with light top & dark bottoms and vice-versa. I appreciate your time to answer.

Have a great day.
I'll post a finished picture of my bike when I get it completed hopefully in early March.
